Le Québec ne fait qu'une bouchée de la Nouvelle-Écosse
L'équipe québécoise était prête pour cet affrotement important qu'elle devait remporter pour espérer atteindre la finale. C'est finalement par la marque de 31-0 qu'elle a triomphé sur la formation de la Nouvelle-Écosse devant une foule très partisane. Le prochain match du Québec aura lieu samedi à 19h00 face à la Saskatchewan.
L'équipe a inscrit 22 de ses 31 points en première demie, tirant profit de quatre interceptions pour se donner une avance insurmontable. L'interception réussie par Kermentz Oreste a mené à la passe de touché de Antony Auclair à Sébastien Champagne sur 42 verges.
Lorsque questionné sur la façon dont il devait garder ses joueurs motivés à la mi-temps avec une avance de 22-0, l'entraîneur-chef Marc Loranger a dit que son équipe s'attendait à ce que la formation locale riposte comme elle l'avait fait dans son premier match face à l'Alberta. "Je m'attendais à ce que la Nouvelle-Écosse se présente et joue physique en deuxième demie, et nous devions être prêts".
Au poste de quart, Antony Auclair a compilé des chiffres de 11 en 17 pour 186 verges, menant l'attaque des siens avec 343 verges au total face aux 100 verges de leurs rivaux. L'attaque au sol a été tout aussi productive. Christopher Amoah a porté 6 fois pour 86 verges, alors que Vincent Alarie-Tardif et Guillaume Labbé ont cumulé respectivement 63 et 34 verges.
Marc Loranger a mentionné que son équipe a su profiter des erreurs de la Nouvelle-Écosse. "Les revirements tôt dans le match nous ont donné le momentum et des points. La Nouvelle-Écosse a bien joué mais ne pouvait nous rattraper. Notre position sur le terrain était excellente et nous en avons profité."
La troisième interception du match par le Québec a mené au touché de 13 verges du quart Auclair à Sébastien Champagne pour son second touché. À mi-chemin au deuxième quart, et débutant sa série à sa ligne de 53, Vincent Alarie-Tardif a franchit la verge requise pour inscrire le deuxième touché de l'équipe.

Victoire de 31 à 0 contre la Nouvelle-Écosse, ce mercredi le 14 juillet. Plusieurs supporters du Québec assistaient à cette deuxième partie…c’était beau de voir flotter tous ces drapeaux fleurdelisés tenus bien haut pour encourager nos joueurs; parmi eux des parents de partout au Québec encourageaient les joueurs.
La victoire de ce soir assure le Québec de la médaille d’or ou de la médaille d’argent. Le prochain match contre la Saskatchewan se tiendra samedi le 17 à 19 heures.
